Completed in 2007, the $169 million Charlotte Towers built by
Devine Constructions is halfway between the two reaches of the
Brisbane River that originally attracted the founders of this
vibrant city, has a rich heritage of its own.
Its immediate neighbours include Brisbane's famous Irish Club,
host to an international who's who of speakers and authors. The
ultra urban design of Charlotte Towers also accommodates the ornate
facade of the 19th century building that graced this address when
Charlotte Street was a buzz of business activity.
Now the activity is busier than business, as international
students and local professionals mingle amid the tables and
umbrellas of the many cafes and bars within a block's stroll of
Charlotte Towers. This social activity is constantly increasing,
fed by the 33,000 interstate migrants arriving in Queensland each
year - and all looking for somewhere to live!
