Terry Conway, State Development Manager - Queensland
After graduating in Applied Science in Built Environment and gaining a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning, Terry worked for Brisbane City Council for 25 years in City Planning and Development Assessment. In that time, he negotiated development approvals for most of the high-rise buildings that shape the city's current skyline. He was also President of the National Trust and on the board of the Australian Council of National Trusts. Terry joined Devine in 2006.
James Evans - Development Manager - Victoria
James has held a wide range of senior management positions in the property development and construction industries over a period of more than 25 years, working in both functional and project specific roles on developments ranging in value between $1m and $800m. Over the last 17 years James has worked as the State Manager, Development Manager, Project Manager and Business Development Manager for the Australian arm of one of the world's largest and most successful urban developers, ING Real Estate Development, and for one of Australia's largest and most successful property development, design and construction contractors, Multiplex. James joined Devine early in 2007 in the role of State Manager Property Development. In this role James has been charged with the responsibility of securing multi unit residential, commercial and mixed use development projects for Devine in the state of Victoria. James is also currently involved in the supervision of the development of Devine's first hotel project in Bourke Street, Melbourne.
Kerri Hruza, Development Manager
Currently, Kerri's focus is Hideaway @ Currumbin – a $500 million luxury residential community. Before joining Devine, Kerri co-ordinated a range of major development projects as an Associate with Brannock and Associates Planning and Environment Consultants. Kerri graduated with honours in Regional Town Planning and was awarded a post-graduate diploma in Social Planning and Development. She is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia and has contributed to two published environmental planning texts.
John Cheeseman, Contract Administrator
John's association with Devine commenced 19 years ago. During this time, John produced a blueprint – The Critical Path to Settlement – for administering different phases of a project. This is used to enhance the rate of successful settlements by consolidating knowledge gained from previous projects. Today, John's role in Contract Administration is to take primary responsibility for contract signing, administration and settlement.
Michael Romano, Development Manager
Michael manages the complete development process on some of Devine's major commercial projects. He is involved in feasibility studies, approvals, design and construction, marketing and financial modelling. Previously, Michael was involved in a range of residential, commercial and retail developments in Melbourne. Holding both a Bachelor of Business – Property Development and a Certificate IV in Estate Agency, Michael now monitors Devine's projects in Victoria and South East Queensland.
Bill Bennett, Development Manager
Bill matches practical expertise gained as a tradesman with academic prowess, having gained an Honours degree in Construction and Project Management, the Australian Institute of Building NSW Chapter Medal and the Australian Institute of Construction Prize. Working with Parris and Associates, Bill was responsible for developing over 30 child care centres and 20 aged care projects across Australia. He is currently responsible for delivery of Devine's 333 Ann St Commercial Tower.
Ken J Woodley, Assistant Development Manager
Ken worked primarily in property, finance and insurance from the 1990s, after qualifying as a solicitor. Retaining his membership of the Queensland Law Society, he moved into the development of towers and apartments – from initial feasibility through to sales and leasing. He joined Devine in 2006 as an Assistant Development Manager in the Units and Townhouses Division.
