New appointment reflects Devine's focus on land banking in Victoria

Friday 13 July 2007

Listed property development company Devine has continued to enhance the strength of its management team in Victoria to ensure a diversity and on-going supply of work.

Gary Bishop, who has more than 30 years experience in the property industry, has been appointed Senior Acquisitions Manager for Victoria. He will be in charge of identifying and securing broad-acre sites, and initiating joint-venture opportunities with land holders.

Gary has combined his skills in senior management and property development across a broad range of construction projects. He also has experience in project and construction management, planning, estate design and estate marketing.

"Devine is always looking for good-value opportunities to expand its land holdings," said Mr Bishop. "This extends to cultivating joint-venture relationships where it can use its construction, marketing and financing skills to maximise the value of the project."

Devine Limited moved into Victoria in 1997 when it purchased Pioneer Homes Australia, but in recent years it has expanded from a contract home builder into a developer of fully-integrated residential estates. Locally it is underway with communities at Pakenham, Deer Park, Tarneit and Berwick with other Devine communities planned for Cranbourne and Melton. Nationally, Devine has a development portfolio exceeding $2 billion in end value.
