The latest stage of Devine's 'Central Park' residential
community at Deer Park has almost sold out with only a handful of
lots remaining.
Purchasers have been a combination of owner-occupiers and
investors, while a number of builders have secured lots and intent
to construct homes to sell as complete house-and-land packages.
The remaining lots at 'Central Park' range in size from 300sqm
to 700sqm, and are selling from $129,000.
Central Park is a 44 hectare estate bordered by Robinsons and
Foley's Roads in the municipality of Brimbank and only 19
kilometres west of the Melbourne CBD.
"It's quite amazing to be able to purchase land so close to the
city. When you compare with other states, the cost is significantly
less and this gives potential purchasers confidence to buy.
"We have sold more than 240 lots and the demand shows no sign of
weakening," said Shane Guymer, Devine Communities' Sales and
Marketing Manager in Victoria.
Providing sufficient accommodation to meet Brimbank's population
growth is an on-going challenge, with a further 21,000 people
expected to move into the municipality over the next decade.
"Brimbank is a really popular area for families because it has
more than 20 schools, colleges and university campuses, and an
array of shopping, sporting and recreational facilities," Mr Guymer
said.
Its popularity is likely to be further enhanced when the
$331-Million Deer Park bypass is completed around September 2009.
This 9.3km four-lane freeway will run between the Western Highway
at Caroline Springs and the Western Ring Road at Sunshine West,
greatly reducing travelling times to and from the city, and
improving road safety.
The multi-stage 'Central Park' is being created around a major
communal park, and will contain children's playgrounds,
recreational areas and walkways. Devine has worked closely with
urban planners from Brimbank City Council to achieve a successful
balance of parkland and built form.
