The centerpiece of Devine's new residential community at
Brimbank - a massive parkland providing active and passive
recreation space - is under construction.
The heart of the 44-hectare 'Central Park' Park will have mass
planting of low maintenance shrubs, groundcovers and
drought-tolerant native grasses.
The geometric layout of the parkland creates a distinct identity
for the expanding estate, which is between Robinsons and Foleys
Roads. Interwoven into the park will be a children's playground,
shelters, and a manicured oval for kicking a football, throwing a
Frisbee, flying a kite and enjoying a muck-around game of cricket
with a soft ball.
'Central Park' will also have walking, jogging and cycling
tracks, picnic facilities, and a number of seating areas. These
varied elements will cater for different users and experiences -
from informal and naturalistic to structured and ordered.
"We have more than 200 trees being planted in stage one and
approximately 66 in the park which we will plant to provide shade
in years to come," said Siobhan Rehill, Development Manager at
'Central Park'.
"We are working hard to have the park completed by November in
time for the hot Summer months, and we believe it will become a
'green' focus for the whole neighborhood, not just our
residents."
'Central Park' is one of the largest residential communities
that Devine has created in Melbourne since purchasing Pioneer Homes
Australia in 1997. Other Devine residential estates underway are at
Pakenham, Tarneit, Berwick and Cranbourne.
